Baked Mushrooms with Marsala

 

Serves 4

2oz Butter
1lb Large button mushrooms, thickly sliced
2 cloves of Garlic, sliced
5fl.ozs Marsala
Salt and pepper
Chopped fresh Italian parsley to garnish

Method:

Preheat oven to 190C/375F or gas 5

Use butter to grease a large flat baking sheet
Layer mushrooms in a dish and sprinkle over garlic slices.
Pour Marsala over the mushrooms and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 - 30 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
Serve hot or cold, sprinkled with the parsley.

Note:

As an alternative you could substitute fresh ceps (porcini) for some of the mushrooms.
