Ingredients:
4oz plain flour
2oz margarine
2oz castor sugar
1 egg and 5 tablespoons of milk
8 - 12oz rhubarb
Golden syrup
Method:
1. Rub fat into flour till like breadcrumbs
2. Stir in sugar
3. Add beaten egg and milk to make stiff batter
4. Cut fruit into m1 inch pieces and stir in
5. Pour into greased pie dish and bake ½ hour gas 7, 425F
6. Cover with syrup while hot and eat at once
Other fruit such as gooseberries, cherries or plums can be used instead of rhubarb if desired
