Heat the oil in a pan, add the onion and garlic and cook for a minute at high heat. Add the spices and cook for another minute. Add the meat and stir to coat. Cover loosely and cook for 5 minutes. Add the stock, bay leaves and salt, cover and cook for 20 minutes or until the meat is tender, stirring occasionally. Add the almonds during the last 5 minutes of cooking. Garnish with bay leaves and serve. |
